La'al Ratty's Quiz - 11th February - 19th February
Half Term fun with our very own Ratty! Participate in our Online Quiz with Ratty and you may win a prize!
Fish Suppers - 24th February, 23rd March, 20th April, 18th May, 14th September, 12th October and 9th November
Board one of our locos at Ravenglass and journey for 7 miles through the beautiful Eskdale vale to Dalegarth for a scrumptious fish and chip supper! £8.50 per person, departs Ravenglass 6:00pm and returns from Dalegarh 8:00pm. Book in advance. Please Note: Fish Suppers will be hauled by a diesel engine.
Mother's Day Cream Tea and Steam Specials- 18th March*
Treat your mum with a cream tea and steam special gift voucher for The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway! Board one of our locos and begin a spectacular journey through the Eskdale Valley. Your steam experience is topped off with a delicious, homemade Lakeland cream tea at either our Turntable Cafe (Ravenglass) or Fellbites Eatery (Dalegarth).
Gift voucher for return steam journey and cream tea = £15.00, voucher is valid for 3 months.
Eggtastic Fun - 31st March - 15th April
Eggtastic fun with La'al Ratty! Join in with Ratty and his line quiz and you could win a prize. It is also the launch of Ratty's Kids Club; so if you love the Railway, want to find out the latest going-ons, win prizes and get fantastic offers - now is the time to join!

Photography Competition 2012 - 6th April - 31st October
It's time to get those creative juices flowing with The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway's Photography Competition 2012; and this year's theme is 'A Day in the Life of a Dry Stone Wall'. So put on those walking boots ...and thinking caps and come over to The Railway to get inspired!
This year there are three age categories:
Under 12 years
12 - 18 years
Over 18 years
£1.00 per photo entry fee with all proceeds going to Fix the Fells.

Flora & Fauna Cumbria Wildlife Trust Steam and Ramble* - 26th April
Join Cumbria Wildlife Trust for a guided walk around Eskdale, complete with a cream tea at either of our station cafes. £15.00 per person, including cream tea. Departs Ravenglass. Book in advance.

The Turntable Wine Quiz* - 18th May
Do you know your Merlots from your Cabernets? Join us at The Turntable Cafe for an evening of wine tasting and tests! Assess the aroma, apprise the age - it's time to test your palate! £16.00 per person. Book in advance.
Diamond Jubilee Brass and Bunting - 5th June
Join us in a right royal affair at The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. With Union Jack bunting galore and the patriotic sound of Egremont Brass Town Band playing at Dalegarth Station, come and sample the spirit of yesteryear! Rule Britannia! This event is part of scheduled service.
Beer, Bangers 'n' Steam Special* - 17th June
Why not treat Dad to a Beer, Bangers 'n' Steam Special gift voucher. Board one of our locos for a return steam journey through picturesque Eskdale, followed by a hearty Cumberland sausage lunch and a pint of our very own Ratty Ale!
Gift voucher for Beer, Bangers 'n' Steam = £20.00, price includes a return journey from either Ravenglass or Dalegarth and a Cumberland sausage lunch with beer (or non-alcholic beverage). Voucher is valid for 3 months.
Steam and Romans* – 20th June, 18th July, 5th September, 26th September and 24th October
Must pre-book. Bespoke tour exploring Roman Eskdale with an expert guide. You will tour the Bath House at Ravenglass before taking the spectacular train journey to Dalegarth. After a light lunch a minibus will take you to Hardknott Fort, known to the Romans as Mediobogdum, with its dramatic setting overlooking the Eskdale valley. £23.50 per adult, includes guide, transport and Soup and Sandwich lunch. Not recommended for young children.
Meet The World Owl Trust at Dalegarth –16th June, 14th July, 11th August and 8th September
On selected Saturdays throughout the summer, Dalegarth Station will be offering visitors the opportunity to get up, close and personal with an owl and meet one of the conservation team from the World Owl Trust at Muncaster Castle. There is no charge for this activity, but it is weather dependent. This is what I call a real tweet!
Statesman Rail 'The Lakelander' - 28th July, 4th August and 11th August
Board the 'The Lakelander' and prepare yourself for a picturesque West Coast steam journey, taking in some of England's most outstanding scenery! You can now combine a trip on 'The Lakelander' with a journey on Lakeland's longest, oldest and undoubtedly most scenic of railways, The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Ceilidh Evening at Dalegarth* - 14th July
Book in advance. Back for another year, The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway will be hosting their own Ceilidh event. The evening begins with a seven mile steam journey to Dalegarth, where this evening's entertainment will take place. Choose to dance the night away or just soak up the atmosphere of this fantastic night! £15.00 per person, price includes return travel and light supper.
Steam to the Hills with a LDNP Ranger* - 2nd August and 30th August
A guided walk with a scheduled journey from Ravenglass to Eskdale Green. £12.00 per person.
RSPB Steam and Tweet Weekend* - 11th - 12th August
Must pre-book. Join the RSPB for a host of walks and activities. £12.00 adult members, £14.00 adult non-member, £6.00 child member, £7.00 child non-member.
Family Fun Weekend - 25th - 27th August

Conservation Day at Dalegarth - 28th October
Come and learn more about the wonderful creatures we share our countryside with, meet some of our conservation partners and hear about the work that they do! The World Owl Trust at Muncaster Castle will be there on the day to answer your questions, they are even bringing along a feathered friend!
Must pre-book. Feeling brave? Well come and board our spectacularly spooky ghost train! Travel down the line in darkness and keep those eyes peeled for some of our fiendish friends who may try to say 'Hallo'! Try not to get spooked! Travel around in the day, but make sure you reserve your seat on the Ghost Train. £15.00 per person includes spooky sweetie bag, all day travel and seat on the Ghost Train home.
Spirit of Christmas - 10th - 11th November
It's almost that time of year, Christmas is nearly upon us and shopping for presents needs to be done! Want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the High Street? Want to spoil a loved one with a unique gift? Why not visit Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway's Winter Gift Fair on the 11th and 12th November for handmade gifts, home-baked treats and Christmas spirit galore! At Dalegarth Station.
Food & WIne Match Evening* - 16th November
Book in advance. Match the wine to the food with an expert on hand to guide you. Event held at The Turntable Cafe, Ravenglass. £16.00 per person.
Santa Express* - 1st - 2nd December, 8th - 9th December, 15th - 16th December, 20th - 23rd December
Must pre-book. It’s almost that time of year again, and the Santa Express is coming to Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway! Come and enjoy a magical journey on-board the Santa Express to meet Father Christmas and explore his grotto! Please note: this is a very popular event, to avoid disappointment please book early!
